"What you see is what you get"?

We find a lot of proverbs in the language, and one of them is "what you see is what you get". This refers to the outward appearance of yourself can defined you, but is it true?

People use this particular proverb to analyze by the looks how it agree on their personalities, but it is not always viable. Once I saw an indigent on the street, this person were considerable filthy, suddenly a friend of my have a talk with him and we discovered he studied in the university but he was a victim of circumstance that brought him into the ruin. Despite this, he was a person who can keep a large argue about politics.

On the other hand, there is people who looks like a serious person but on the inside have a really dirty history. One example is the policies of today, they are presumed to be legitimated and not rascal, rather the majority of them has done illegal things related to money. 

People is assuming others' stories and your principles only by looking at you and that is impossible (although you were a psychic), you can not restrict a person to a facade and not to get know their stories.

Technology, is the second most important discovery the human being has done, after the fire. And now has become considerably prevalent in our lives and world.

The relevance that technology has in our lives is creating day by day pros and cons, but the main component that affect is always how the human is using the technology for.

The pros, for example, are the connection between two people living highly far from each other very quickly. Moreover, how it simplifies doubts to only one click on google, and the access to a huge amount of information, more than the school can provide.

On the contrary, the kind of cons that the misuse of technology occasion is the creation of weapons, the hacking to take possession of  

Pollution is a problem that people are becoming increasingly aware of

                The damaging to the planet is accelerating day by day, as a consequence of human actions. The news are constantly showing the repercussion of the malpractice with the environment, yet the percentage of those are just growing.

For example, in the streets, the use of cars that contaminates the environment is raising per year. Also, the massive production of solid urban waste is, as well, creating dumping grounds all over the world., the problems about the iceberg are getting serious and the animals are losing their habitat, etc.

People are slightly being aware of this kind of issues even though their actions still exposing a  incomplete consciousness. I think this is a result of the unfinished information that the media is expounding, they always talk about the icebergs but they never talk about the reflection of sunlight and how it just deteriorate the pollution.

Living in a remote area can make a person's life rather challenging.

Nowadays we can observe more and more the migration to a city like Santiago because of the important universities that are only here, and the reason for people who travel from a remote place is, normally, have a better access. So that's one of the biggest challenges a people living in a remote area is facing.

For example, the communication is one of the big walls because of the distance from the society or another person near to them, in this case they can't know about the news in the outside. The access to services like water, electricity, and not talking about phones or wifi, can cause an extra challenge to the contrary of us.

The new type of family in Chile

As a student of Pedagogy in Preschool Education I would like to get into one of the realities of Chile, that are getting more as a mayority than a minority. This masive change in the country has been caused by the inmigration from southamerican countries.

This social change have caused a big impact on how the families are being made, and how them are inserted in society is one of the real questions for the social science. In my field, I can explore how the children are being inclueded in the chilean education. 

Some of the things that I am going to take into account for the research is how the identity of this people, who are looking to be inserted in this country whit a very old-fashioned society, is changing and getting "normalized" and their culture and traditions are getting lost.

One of the problems that affect directly into the childhood is the work of their parents. We all know that the time to work to these people is just unfair and the pay too, so that affect and how much time the parts spend with their childs and how them are not receiving the affection that they need. The cognition is being affected by this too.

This people is living in the most vulnerable places of the regions of Chile so that is an important fact that cannot let the child to be satisfied in most of his necessity.

So that's why this reality is being an important point of study nowadays. 

Charles Ronson

Chales Ronson is a English Psychologist who graduated from the University of Cambridge in the UK in 1996. After he graduated of the Master os Science in Occupational Psychology he started working about the facilitation of knowledge transfer for first and third year undergraduate Psychology students in the University of Gloucestershire, in Cheltenham, a city in England, for two years.

Since 2004 to the present, Charles is working as a part of a research consultant team in the Transport Research Laboratories, in Crowthornem, he is there using principles of action research, it involve experimental trials at the road-track of TRL as well as more theorical work and simulations of driver behaviour.

In 2007 to 2010 he did a PhD in Educational Psychology in the University of Preston. In present he is also working as a Private English Language Teacher for students with an age range of 4-40 years.

Recently, his work have been focused in the chilean education, so one of his presentations was in the CISSE Conference in Santiago, where he talked about the Effects of Enriched Education on Affective Variables for Chilean Children of High Cognitive Ability and Different Socio-Economic Groups, in 2012. And related to this, he is working on publicate something about The Design of a Scale to Examine the Socio-Affective Differences in Chilean Schoolchildren.

English Language Challenges

This is the final post that we had and I can tell that I have learn a lot in this semester. This english class helped me a lot in things like, because of the english speakers that I am used to talk with use some commons mistakes that I didn't have a clue that they were actually mistakes so I imitated that.

For me, the use of blogs is very easy because I am always writing in english with people, comment post on the internet about the things that I am into, and those kind of things. So the posts even helped me in my daily life.

I am so convinced that my oral english is not as good as I would like to, so I have to improve the fluency of my phrases and be able to speak long times and not even hesitate in the vocabulary. And the way that I noticed that I can get better at it, is to speak in english with my friends, and not to be shy, just to let the words go out of my mouth so that could be how I plan to improve it.

These days, and maybe the last 3 years I have used english to read books and watch movies, series, and videos that had only english subtitles, also this months I have to help my friends with their english homeworks, so the daily time that I spend using english is big.

Is so good to have an english class in the university, because nowadays is the most used language in eveything, and to learn how to speak in english is a work tool that always will help us.

Changes to my study programme

There are some important things that I would like to change in my study programme, those are the length of the subject about Health and care of the child, because is a very interesting topic that in my profession, preschool education, play a very important role because we would have to stay with children a big amount of time.

As to the subjetc about History and Foundation of Education, I think I would prefer to get more classes about Social History because I enjoyed so much the short lenght of this unity in this class. 

With regard to the theory of the career, I think I would rather to have less semesters. The first two years is only about it and not very specific in practice, I think only a year is enough. I have seen it in my first practice when I had this problem with my guide educator, that the teachers didn't provide me the meaning of some technical terms that I sould have know in the beginning.

With regard to the workload, this first semester I don't have a problem with that, I don't think it's tough by now, but I think it could get more difficult this next semester.

Regarding to the faculty facilities, I think FACSO doesn't have so many problems, but a little one is that it leak of water in the roof when it is raining. Also, the cafeteria is a little bit small so sometimes we cannot get in and have a luch. I think that some computer labs should be opened just to the students because the three computers that we had is not enough for the whole faculty.

Anyways, the fact that this career only started three years ago, can explain the failure that it has. But, dispite everything, I have learn a lot this months. 

Winter Holidays

In this winter holidays I would like to do so many things that I haven't done before, that's because I've grown up, my parents aren't behind my back at everything, so I am a little bit more free.

The place that I would like to visit is the south of Chile, I have been there just once but in a short tour with my classmates of the past year, and my mom :( . But now, I would like to visit there with my recent friends, and to get other experiences being alone.

But actually, the planes that we've made now, for this winter holidays, are that some of my recent friends are going to my house, we could spend like three days together sharing a room, and then we could go to the beach when it's more rainy because we love this cold weather. And then everyone would  go to their homes and spend some family time.

I would love if my brother, who lives in Iquique, comes to visit us. Spending family time when he comes to our city is the most precious time of the year, we are all reunited because he comes to Rancagua just once or twice in a year. The big surprise that he can give us is that he would travel with his girlfriend and her child, we love Vicente a lot.

Besides that, I would like to spend a lot of time watching movies, series, reading things that I enjoy and not that I am forced to, I would like to put in bed late and wake up late (because I have to wake up at 5 am every day), I would like to take my dog for a walk, and do all the things that I get used to do and I had to stop doing because of the university.

Post graduate studies

It is hard for me to think in a long future, because I am more of a present person. But a postgrade that I would like to study would it be related to the social, comunicational and lenguage disorders in the childhood.

It's because the first time that I went to the kinder garden where I would be doing my first practice, I saw a child who has autism and he didn't get the education and the treatment in classroom like how it's suposed to be. The educator wasn't ready to teach a child like that so the tools that he needed to have a complete development wasn't there for him.

I would like to have this post graduate study out of Chile because, for me, it's important to know other visions that could open minded me and the education, so that could help the child that most need a public education and doesn't have the means to be in a special school. The people shouldn't be looking for the education that fits them most, is us, the educators, who have to had the skills and the concern to fits education to everyone.

I am a worried person about the inclusion in education, no matter where they are from, how are they or what they need, we are all the same so that's why I find it so important on an educator mind.

Animals

When I think about animals and pets, the only thing that came into my mind is how much lovely they are. I consider myself an animal lover because I can't keep my hands out of them.

In my life, I've had 3 dogs. When I was born, my family had a she dog called "Pequeña" and actually she wasn't small at all, she was a Doberman. Then I grow up with a he dog called "Rocky", he was a German Shepherd and we lived 13 years together. 

Now I have a she dog named "Naga" by an animal character in the cartoon "The Legend Of Korra". She is 2 years old, is a Golden Retriever and as they are know she is very playful, but they are also know because they can help in treatment for child with autism and blind people. 

My favorite pets are dogs, but actually I can't say that they are better than cats because I've never own one, I am allergic to them. 

I think that if you raise good your dog, you shouldn't have problems with them bitting people or hurting another animals. When we had the Doberman she wasn't dangerous at all. I was 2 years old, I sleeped with her and she never hurt me.

My friend, Leo, he have a spider as a pet and I am not sure if he had realized the gender of that spider but he named it "Dante" anyway.

Regard to keeping animals in zoo, I am a very supporter about some zoo that help some animals and rescue them from the mistreatment that people gave them. In my city there is a Safary that do that, they go to some circus and rescue animals like tigers, lions, and the last one was an elephant. They give them the treatment and the space that they deserve and if they are healthy you can go and see them.

Reading Is Life

My house is full of books since my brother is a book worm, but I never looked into one when I was a child. It took me 10 years of life to get interested into one book and it was "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" by Roald Dahl. Since then, the school library became my favourite place and I lost the count of book that I've read in this 8 years.

My favourite genre is Fantasy, but I like most the subgenre called Epic Fantasy, and books about it are "Lord of the Rings", "Game of Thrones", "Throne of Glass", "The Name of the Wind" (wich is my favourite), etc. 
And my favourite book about Fantasy is "The Raven Boys" Saga by Maggie Stiefvater.
The last book that I've read recently is "The Dream Thieves", the second book in the Raven Boys Saga. It's about a girl who lives with her mother and her aunts, and they engaged to read the tarot. They have been telling her that she will kill her true love by a kiss.
Maybe people will think that love is the main topic of the book, but it's not.

It's about Law Lines, medieval history, magic places, and how the energy make the world lives. I've enoyed this Saga since I am 13 years old, and it has not ended yet.

But now, the time that I spended before to read I use it to study or sleep, so I have to find some books that won't take too long to read, and I've started with mangas (japanese comics), manhwas (korean comics) and manhuas (chinese comics), the are really enjoyable, artistic,  and I think I will read more and more the rest of the year.

FAV FILMS

Usually I don't watch so many kind of films, and I don't go to the cinema very often, just in the movies that I watch with my big brothers. But this month, my brother came with the movie "Doctor Strange" and we watched it together in the house, it's a pretty awesome and badass movie, with lots of special effects that make this movie so interesting.

But my all time favourite movie is Mulan and the secuel, I think that it teaches us so many things that brakes with the rules of the first movies of Disney.

It's about a girl, who always wanted to protect China and to be in the military, but because she is female, she can't. But that wasn't a impediment, she dressed like a man and practice in the same conditions as they, with the secret that she keept until the end.

It's an animated movie, so the actors and actress are just the voices, that is a hard work anyway.

I've seen it so many times, since I was a little girl I can't stop watching it. And of course I would recommended it, but is weird to find someone who hasn't watch it.

But in the list of movies that I would watch again, after Mulan of course, is Logan, the movie that I watched in the summer, and right after I finished to watched it I called my brother and we started to commented it with very enthusiasm, although he is far from home, so the feelings about that movie came back if I would watched it again.

My Future Job

I am studying Preschool Education so the first place that I am going to work is a classroom.

The work that I hope to have is a great kindergarden with children of all ages, from months of life to 6 years old, but I would like most is to be able to have children with autism or that kind of disorders in my class because they need some different treatment, even though they can learn easily.

I would like to travel a lot, but with my job that wouldn't be that simple. The hardest part is that I will be working with children, it's a lot of responsabilites, and if they want to go somewhere the travels would be short. So I think that I should travel by myself.

About the salary, here in Chile, teachers doesn't receive good pay and my future job is the worst payed in the whole country, but I expect to do enough money. The place that I can make more money is a private kindergarden, but I am not so excited to work in one.

When I see the women who are working in my future job, the most that they do is paper work, they didn't even know some of the kids, so that's what I wouldn't like to do. If I am studying this is because the most important to me are children.

The best holidays I've had

One of the best memories that I had is the holidays that I spend with my brother and my parents in Iquique last year.

I was a gift from my brother to my parents because I went a year before but alone. That was the time when my parents first fly on an airplane, so they were very nervous.

In Iquique we went so many places, most of them I didn't ever hear of. First day we went to Mamiña, a small village between the mountains. Next day we went to Camiña, another small village most to the north, it look so alike Mamiña and both of them had it's own harvest for the hole village.

Then we went to the Humberstone and Santa Laura Saltpeter Works and we could feel the history that have been past in there. It's a really magic place.

But my favorite is always Pica, a small town near to Iquique full of trees, a really delicious jam and the best of all is the thermal baths.

I hope to get there this holidays so I can spend more time with my brother.

A country I would like to visit (but I don't have money)

When my friends and family asks me about it, I gave them literally a huge list of countries and cities that I would love to visit. But what makes them interesting to me is their awesome culture. 

It's hard to say just one but I'm gonna try it. The country that I would like to live in there sometime because it's culture is most part of it unknown to me is JAPAN.

I've heard lots of things about it but maybe fifty percent are wrong, or sometimes they confuse it with China, but most of things I know about them is the relevance they give to the respect, like formalities and the specific words they have to refers to a young or old person.

The things that I would like to do there are 3: 

1.- Eat ramen, it's their common food.

2.- Go to Akihabara, a place focused in the anime, manga, etc.

3.- Visit all of the Temples placed in Japan, they have ones really big with amazing graveyards.

And because their traditions are so beautiful, the idiom and the handwriting are so careful and landscapes are lovely I would like to live in there.
